You know, if I’m honest, I have had no interest in politics…until now. I really like Barack. When I hear him talk about change and moving America forward I feel that. This man is intelligent, charismatic and a voice for a diversified America. If I can be trivial for a moment…
Take a look at Barack’s website. Change isn’t just in his message, it’s reflected in his overall media presence. I love that he chose to look forward when he had his site developed. Built on a Web 2.0 platform, Barack’s campaign site is a nod towards the future of web technology. He didn’t go for “just put up a site” but instead he went for a fresh new look; a “moving forward” visual style. Look at the attention to detail with the iconography, the visual elements and the typography; how everything just seems to flow harmoniously. You see that in his character as well.
I look at the other candidates websites and I’m reminded why I wasn’t in to politics in the first place. Boring, stark and archaic online personas reflecting the real life character of the candidates. Yawntastic. Even more worrisome is that they intend to govern America and international affairs with this same boring vision.
For me, when I think of the future president, I want a president that gets it; that sees the future from a very high and broad sweeping view - this means even in the most subtle of details.
Looking at this small example and moving my way up the ladder to where Barack has come from, what he has done and what he sees for the future just sells him as a whole for me. He isn’t looking back. He isn’t saying “remember when…” and “I can bring back the ’50s…”. He is about changing the game altogether, taking America to that next level and for that, he’s won my vote.
I’ve read one of his first books and was amazed how candid he was. I could really relate to him on many levels. More importantly I felt he could relate to many, many people on various levels. He’s not just theory but the real deal.
Your observation just makes even clearer to me he’s mostly certainly the best candidate for our country and the world.
i’ve been thinking the same thing regarding all the visual elements of obama’s campaign. it really shows his vision and commitment to forward thinking. i believe that if he went out on the campaign trail and said that he wanted the designer vote, he would totally get it.
