I’ll be at the rally this Sunday. We need to fix the congestion in NYC for not only the drivers and commuters but for our own health and our childrens. The future of this city is at stake and our lives depend on this bill passing.
If you ride, walk or take public transportation to work, you should be at this rally and support this bill.
Watch the video detailing just a few of the benefits.

Potholes, pedestrians, cab drivers and buses make navigating the concrete jungle a thrilling, calculating and sometimes risky commute on a bicycle. Riding these city streets can be brutal in more ways than just physical harm; your bike takes a beating. One of the most common occurenses: flat tires.
Just about anything and everything is left on the roadways. On several occasions I have found myself stranded somewhere in the city with a flat caused by something as trivial as a 1/8 - 1/4″ inch piece of glass. This my friends, is very annoying. To end this trend, I decided to buy a set of tires that are meant to alleviate the constant flats all together, Continentals Ultra Gatorskin. The Gatorskin features three layers of protection: a fully encasing Duraskin side walls, an aramid breaker and kevlar reinforcement. Essentially this tire means business.
My set arrived today and I’m happy to report, so far, so good. My brief experience so far is that these tires are heavy. Granted, they are made for the “rugged” urban terrain and winter/rainy training, I just wish they were a tad lighter. Another thing I noticed is that I am not as fast with these tires as I was with my Bontrager Select’s. I think the added weight and extra rubber contributes to the sluggish feeling - although it could have been me that was the slow poke.
We’ll see how they hold up through the next few weeks.
